  1. █           INSTALLING THE HOURLY RATES (SETUP)              
  2. ▒           ══════════════════════════════════               
  3. ▒                                                            
  4. ░  ALPHQUOTE enables the user to set HOURLY RATE values      
  5. ░  for typesetting, paste-up and design.  These HOURLY       
  6. ░  RATE values are initially set at rates used in the        
  7. ░  Washington, D.C. area.  Use the values supplied, enter    
  8. ░  your own values, or use the hourly rates generator        
  9. ░  program GENERATE.EXE which is included with the           
  10. ░  ALPHAQUOTE archive.                                       
  11. ░                                                            
  12. ░  The answers to the questions in the SETUP function        
  13. ░  need only to be entered initially or when hourly rates    
  14. ░  change. Answer the questions as they appear.  If          
  15. ░  SETUP has been completed once, those values will appear   
  16. ░  in the response boxes when SETUP is recalled.  They may   
  17. █  be modified at this time.  All penalty and credit         
  18. █  percentages are percentages which will be multiplied      
  19. ░  times the base price.  In the example, a response of      
  20. ░  Fair for Copy/Pasteup conditions, will result in 15% of   
  21. ░  the base price ADDED to the base price.  Telcom/Media     
  22. ░  percentages are CREDITS and will SUBTRACT that            
  23. ░  percentage from the base price.  Use the Language/        
  24. ░  Tabular penalty for any more difficult work such as       
  25. ▒  math, runarounds, or tabular.

  27. ░  Page 2 of the SETUP function contains questions           
  28. ░  pertaining to Company Name, Company Address, Company,     
  29. ░  City/State.  The responses are used to form the masthead  
  30. ░  portion of the printed report produced by selection 'P'   
  31. ░  (Print) of the MAIN MENU. ALPHAQUOTE contains a           
  32. ░  generic printer driver program that will work on most     
  33. ░  printers using the Epson FX80 standard.  Select D for     
  34. █  dot matrix printer,  L for letter quality printers or     
  35. █  'G' for a generic printer.                                
  36. ░                                                            
  37. ░  This function needs to be accessed only when changes      
  38. ░  occur to the hourly rates or percentage factors.          
  39. ░                                                            
  40. ░  NOTE:  When estimates are saved to disk, the setup rates  
  41. ░  in effect at the time are saved with the estimate.        
  42. ░  Loading an old estimate from disk will change the rates   
  43. ░  in setup to those in effect at the time of the estimate.  
  44. ░  Answer 'Y' (yes) to the Load Current Rates question in    
  45. ░  the setup menu to update old estimates.  Press F2 to see  
  46. ░  the change to the new rates.  Please be sure to save      
  47. ░  the estimate again this time containing the new rates.
